This project will explore how college professors use technology to teach their students, and how students use technology to do their schoolwork. The changes in technology over the past several years will be studied, especially comparing how professors use technological innovations today versus 10 to 20 or more years ago. The kinds of innovations used by both professors and students will be discussed, with exploration of the pros and cons of these innovations. Another theme is whether today’s students are too distracted by all the electronic gadgets they have access to, such as iPods, video game consoles, cell phones and laptop computers.

This project focuses on the University of Connecticut, but many of the conclusions may be true of universities in general.

Users of this site may look at the various pages of the project in any order they wish. Each page has links to the other pages at the top, bottom and in the right margin. There are also photos, slideshows and videos to view, and there are polls to participate in. Please leave comments to let me know what you think of this project.
